Georgetown Pilates is owned, operated and founded by former principal dancer of The Washington Ballet, Heather Perry. As a disciple of the Romana Kryzanowska Pilates lineage, she studied under world renowned master teachers including Bob Leikens, Susan Moran-Perich, Karen Garia, and Peter Fiasca. With a sincere commitment to translate her learnings as both a dancer operating at the highest professional level, and also as a dancer battling injury and muscular imbalances, Heather opened the studio in 2009.

Heather received her comprehensive certification through Power Pilates in 2004 and Georgetown Pilates became a Power Pilates Host Studio for teacher training in 2010. Instructors at Georgetown Pilates honor the purity of Joseph Pilates method to realign body imbalances resulting in a calmer and pain free state across body and mind.

"Pilates is my passion and sharing the precision and genius of the work is my life.” – Heather Perry

Longtime Pilates practitioner. Power Pilates mat certified since 2009 and comprehensive apparatus certified in 2011. Certified personal trainer, Yoga Alliance RYT-200.

WHY I TEACH
I came to Pilates through injuries from running marathons and triathlons. I was surprised at how challenging small, precise movements could be and how it’s systematic approach really changed my body. I love to help clients develop a strong, balanced, healthier body that works efficiently and provides a feeling of wellness and strength from within.

WHY I TEACH
I teach Pilates because I love seeing the powerful changes it offers clients; whether it's a big change or the many, small adjustments made in each session that add up to a phenomenal transformation in the well-being of the client. I'm a dedicated Pilates practitioner and believe it is the single best, most effective exercise you can undertake for meaningful as well as lasting change. As a mom I feel keenly the importance of caring for (and repairing) our bodies. As an instructor I approach this work with humility, high demand, and even higher rewards.
